Stephen Jones has been the pastor at First Southern Baptist since 2006. He and his wife Natalie were married in 2000, and have two children: Dylan and Heidi.

Stephen grew up in a Christian home and trusted in Jesus at a young age. Through most of his life, he sensed God calling him into full-time Christian ministry. He earned a B.A. in Political Studies at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA, and his Master's of Divinity from The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, CA. He was ordained in 2007.

Pastor Stephen is also active in our community. He has volunteered at the High Desert Pregnancy Clinic and is secretary for the Morongo Basin Evangelical Pastor's Fellowship. He's currently serving as 2nd Vice President for the California Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Pastor believes his main duty is to shepherd God's flock and preach God's Word. His goal is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and encourage them toward Christlikeness (Ephesians 4:11-13). He blogs at Life Under the Sun , and in his free time, you'll probably find him reading, running, playing games, learning guitar, woodworking, or spending time with family.
